Hispanic Federation sent a letter to both House and Senate leadership urging the Congress to pass a CARES Act 2 relief bill that secures the health and safety for all people, regardless of immigration status or geographic location, and makes assistance available for the duration of the economic downturn. While the CARES Act was a significant first step, millions of Latinos in the U.S. and Puerto Rico were left out of key provisions of legislation passed to address the impacts of the coronavirus.

Hispanic Federation joins National Low Income Housing Coalition, National Women's Law Center, and 101 other organizations in urging the Department of Housing and Urban Development to suspend all non-emergency rulemaking until at least 30 days after the national emergency declared on March 13, 2020 has ended. Making changes to regulations would result in fewer people receiving housing assistance and undermining civil rights protections would exacerbate the current public health crisis.
