QLatinx is a grassroots community-led racial, social, and gender justice organization dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of Orlando's LGBTQ+ Latinx community.
Founded in response to the mass shooting and act of hate that occurred on June 12th at Pulse nightclub, during the LGBTQ+ establishment’s Latinx-themed night, that robbed our community of 49 lives and left many more physically and psychologically wounded.
Through community education campaigns and local advocacy work, QLatinx aims to deepen the political consciousness of LGBTQ+ and Latinx individuals about intersections and complexities of institutional, interpersonal, and internalized forms of oppression. QLatinX works to advance the awareness of gender-based and racially-based violence in all of its forms, bringing specific attention to the disproportionate harm to LGBTQ+ individuals of color that are criminalized and held in enforcement custody.
Hispanic Federation is the fiscal conduit of QLatinX. To learn more about the work of QLatinx visit their website at qlatinx.org
