Hispanic Federation, Inc. is committed to respecting the privacy of its supporters, including our financial and in-kind donors, whether the donation is made online, by mail, or any other method.

Certain pages on the Hispanic Federation, Inc. site may invite you to voluntarily share personally identifying information, such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number. Sharing that information will allow you to make a donation, join our email list, sign a petition, or participate in other similar online activities. We may use that voluntarily submitted data to complete your donation, provide you with updates about the work you support, Hispanic Federation activities or news, or about opportunities to support Hispanic Federation.

When you make a financial or in-kind donation, you provide your name and contact information. Financial donors provide standard payment information including, in many circumstances, credit card data. Hispanic Federation Inc. and the companies we work with to process credit card data use industry standard safeguards to protect your information. These measures include encryption, access controls, network firewalls, and other appropriate security measures to protect your information.

We will not sell, share or trade your personally identifiable information with any other entity. In addition, we will not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. Hispanic Federation, Inc. has vendors that assist with processing and managing donations and donor data. We give these vendors access to donor data. Our vendors are bound by strict confidentiality rules and are permitted to use donor data only to support Hispanic Federation operations.

Text and Email Communications Policy

The following policy outlines how Hispanic Federation collects, uses, stores, and protects information obtained for the purposes of communicating through text message and email. 

Consent to Communicate 

By opting-in or agreeing to receive communications through text message and/or email, individuals agree to receive periodical information from Hispanic Federation. This may include: 

  • Information and updates about our programmatic efforts 
  • Event invitations 
  • Advocacy opportunities 
  • Volunteer opportunities 
  • Donor appeals 
  • Calls to action 

Opt-ins are obtained through the following channels: 

  • In-person sign-ups 
  • Text-to-join campaigns 
  • Email and newsletter sign-ups 
  • Website forms 
  • Event registrations 
  • Donation forms 

Text Message Communication Policy 

  • By opting-in or agreeing to receive communications, individuals agree to receive periodical text messages from Hispanic Federation. 
  • Individuals can opt-out or unsubscribe from receiving text messages at any time by replying “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE”. Individuals will receive confirmation of their opt-out within 10 business days. 

Email Communication Policy 

  • By opting-in or agreeing to receive communications, individuals agree to receive periodical email communications from Hispanic Federation. 
  • Individuals can opt-out or unsubscribe from receiving email communications at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link that’s included in every email. 
  • Individuals will receive confirmation of their opt-out within 10 business days. 

Information We Collect 

  • When you subscribe to our text messaging or email services, Hispanic Federation collects certain personal information, such as your mobile phone number, email address, and name to communicate with you periodically. 
  • Hispanic Federation collects information about your interactions with our text messaging and email services, such as the content of the messages you send or receive, and the date and time of such messages. 

Use of Information 

  • Hispanic Federation uses the personal information provided by you to send text and email messages, updates, and relevant information related to those listed in the Consent to Communicate section.  
  • Hispanic Federation does not use your personal information for marketing or advertising purposes.  

Data Security 

  • Hispanic Federation implements reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. 

Children’s Privacy 

  • Hispanic Federation’s text messaging and email service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us at info@hispanicfederation.org. 

Data Protection and Retention Policy 

  • Hispanic Federation does not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties. Only authorized personnel can access this data.
