The Affordable Connectivity Program

HF is leading a campaign demanding Congress extend the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which ran out of funding in the spring. The ACP is a federal program that lowers the out-of-pocket cost of broadband service for working families. More than 21 million households relied on the ACP to stay connected, including many Latino individuals and families. You can join this campaign by calling your local Congress Member and urge them to fully fund the ACP.

Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program

Many Americans lack access to affordable, reliable, high-speed internet. The BEAD program, created under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is a federal grant program that aims to change that by getting all Americans online. The program includes $42 billion to expand high-speed internet access and fund partnerships between states, communities, and nonprofit organizations to identify the areas where it’s needed most.

HF is playing a critical role connecting local nonprofit organizations and communities across the country to state and federal representatives in charge of allocating this funding and identifying areas where high-speed internet infrastructure will eventually be built. Digital Equity Act Program

Too many communities lack access to high-speed internet. Many more can’t afford it or don’t know how to use it. To create an equitable economy, everyone needs access to reliable and affordable high-speed internet. The Digital Equity Act provides $2.75 billion to establish three grant programs that promote digital equity and inclusion. They aim to ensure that all people and communities have the skills, technology, and capacity needed to reap the full benefits of our digital economy. As part of this Program, HF is elevating the voices local nonprofits across the nation by connecting their leaders to state and federal representatives in charge of distributing these grants.
