La Comunidad, Inc. upholds the dignity of immigrants, refugees and low-income Latino residents of Everett and surrounding neighborhoods of Greater Boston. Through education, legal support and collective action we envision the 2,500 families we serve with the ability to live, work and participate fully in their communities. For 21 years, our ESOL and citizenship classes, translation and legal services, youth leadership and community action campaigns have succeeded in increasing the networks of support to make a better life for those we serve, winning national recognition for our case management and coalition-building strategies. We envision the full integration of Latino and other linguistic minority immigrants into civic and social life in Everett and surrounding areas so that they can create a better future for themselves and their families. We are led by the people we serve, we build relationships with local leaders through education, and we engage in coalitions across the region to share resources.
