Last week, Hispanic Federation and its network of Latino community nonprofits met with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. Sen. Schumer, a longtime ally of the Hispanic Federation, spoke with a group of more than 30 staff and member agency executives about the road ahead in the new Trump administration.

“Sen. Schumer has been a strong champion on many of the issues we care deeply about,” said José Calderón, President of the Hispanic Federation. “That’s why we were honored to welcome him to our space and engage him around Latino priorities in his new role as Senate Minority Leader. After decades of active engagement with HF and our leadership, he knows as well as anybody what’s at stake for Latinos in Washington.”

From immigration to education, to health care and the environment, Sen. Schumer and HF's network of Latino leaders offered insights on the work ahead and what's needed to defend our communities and our values over the coming months and years.
