CREAR FUTUROS: HISPANIC FEDERATION EXPANDS COLLEGE PEER-MENTORSHIP PROGRAM TO ILLINOIS, NORTH CAROLINA

Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino nonprofit membership organization, announced it will expand its Latino-serving student mentorship program, CREAR (College Readiness, Achievement, and Retention) Futuros, to Illinois and North Carolina for the first time. In addition to expanding into two new states, HF also announced a new partnership with New York State universities, adding two schools to the program: SUNY Purchase and SUNY Old Westbury.

SPECTRUM ANNOUNCES $45,000 SPECTRUM DIGITAL EDUCATION GRANT FOR HISPANIC FEDERATION

Spectrum today announced Hispanic Federation has received a $45,000 Spectrum Digital Education grant to fund the Spectrum Mobile Learning Lab. The mobile lab will be operated by Hispanic Federation (HF) partner agency, Salud Sin Fronteras. The grant is part of the broadband connectivity provider’s six-year, $8 million commitment to promote digital education and broadband technology in communities across the country.

HISPANIC FEDERATION’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTS MARCOS TORRES AS NEW BOARD CHAIRMAN

Hispanic Federation’s (HF) Board of Directors today announced that Marcos Torres will begin serving as the new chair of the organization’s board. Marcos is the managing director and head of U.S. communications, media and entertainment at RBC Capital Markets. He was elected as HF’s board chair on November 9, 2022, and officially assumed the role on June 29, 2023.

LA VOZ DE MI GENTE: HISPANIC VOTERS ENGAGED BY HISPANIC FEDERATION VOTED AT DOUBLE THE RATE OF OVERALL HISPANIC VOTER TURNOUT

On Monday, June 19, 2023, GoVoteNYC released a report evaluating community approaches to increase civic engagement and voter turnout in New York City.
