CONNECTICUT – Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino nonprofit membership organization, announced that it has allocated a total of $900,000 to 15 local, community-based organizations that are uplifting and strengthening communities and families of color in the City of Hartford.

The organizations selected lead programs that focus on youth, education, recreation and arts, homelessness, family stability, reentry programs that support formerly incarcerated individuals and their families, and more. These grantees have received up to $100,000 in funding to support their work.

“Connecticut’s Social Equity Council brings together government and nonprofit sectors to uplift and empower communities who have been historically marginalized. Utilizing and leveraging this type of collaboration is the way to make lasting change for generations to come. Hispanic Federation is proud to be a part of this initiative and welcomes our newest partners. These 15 local nonprofit organizations are joining us in meeting people where they are and providing culturally and linguistically competent resources to the community. We thank the Social Equity Council and congratulate our 15 local partners for being part of the Community Reinvestment Pilot Program,” Frankie Miranda, President and CEO of Hispanic Federation.

The grants are part of the Connecticut Social Equity Council’s Community Reinvestment Pilot Program, which awarded HF $1 million to leverage the organization's grantmaking and capacity building skills to support local groups serving the City of Hartford, specifically in communities identified by the State as Disproportionately Impacted Areas.
