30+ Years of Taking Hispanic Causes to Heart

In 1990, a small group of visionary Latino leaders came together to create Hispanic Federation in New York City. Since then, we’ve expanded to 42 states and territories and have empowered millions of Latinos nationwide.

Our Work

Uplifting Millions of Latinos Nationwide

Hispanic Federation serves as a national model for Latino social, political, and economic empowerment. Through our advocacy work, community programs, and partnerships with more than 650 nonprofits, we work to uplift millions of Hispanic children, youth, individuals, and families across 42 states and territories.

Community Assistance Programs

Our programs are designed to support and uplift children, youth and families through direct services and resources in the areas of education, immigration, health, economic development, environmental justice, and more.

Policy and Advocacy

As the largest Latino umbrella organization in the nation, HF collaborates with our network of nonprofits as well as local, state, and national leaders and institutions to identify inequities and develop solutions to address them. Our policy and advocacy work aims to advance Latino opportunity and equity by focusing on three pillars: civil rights, justice, and equity and empowerment.

Nonprofit Organizational Development

Our network of nonprofits is the foundation on which we build community and make a lasting impact in the lives of Latinos across the country. HF fortifies HF’s grassroots nonprofit network through graduate-level management classes, leadership development trainings, executive fundraising workshops, and other technical assistance seminars.

Over 650+ nonprofit organizations are active HF members and partners, working with Hispanic Federation to strengthen Latino communities nationwide.

Nonprofit Grantmaking and Philanthropy

HF is a leading grantmaker for nonprofits across the country, having provided more than $125 Million since 1990 to support our network of more than 650 nonprofit members and partners. This grantmaking plays a crucial role in establishing programs that uplift Latino families while also supporting the operational needs of the grassroots, nonprofit organizations that serve the community.
