Congratulations, Lin-Manuel!

Congratulations Lin-Manuel! We are so incredibly excited that "Hamilton: An American Musical" won 11 Tony awards on Sunday night, including Best Musical!

This amazing accomplishment comes on top of the other awards already won by Hamilton: a Pulitzer Prize, a Grammy Award and a Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History.

It is no exaggeration to say that your special kind of genius has transformed Broadway and the world of theater. But your impact goes well beyond musical theater. As a recent New York Times op-ed said, your creation of Hamilton is "the most celebrated cultural phenomenon of our time."

Of course, your success means so much more to us. As the son of our Founding President, Luis Miranda, Jr., we feel a deep sense of connection to what you have gifted the world. It is the pride all Latinos feel in you, your transformational artistry and your universal appeal.

You speak for all of us when Hamilton says: "Immigrants. We get the job done!"

Thank you for supporting our work and using your incredible platform to advocate on behalf of Puerto Rico and its people. You continue to inspire us in deep and meaningful ways as you did last night when you recited an amazing sonnet in response to the Orlando massacre. As you know all too well, this tragedy struck at the heart of the Latino and LGBTQ community in Central Florida. As we look to come together and heal from this senseless act of violence, your message bears repeating:

"We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger. We rise and fall, and light from dying embers, remembrances that hope and love last longer and love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside."

Lin-Manuel, thank you!

Mil gracias for making us so proud!
