VICTORY IN CHALLENGE AGAINST FLORIDA’S ANTI-VOTER LAW

In a significant legal victory, a federal district court has issued summary judgment in favor of voting and immigrants’ rights advocates challenging Florida SB 7050, which bars any noncitizen — regardless of lawful residence status — from working or volunteering for third-party voter registration organizations (3PVROs) who register eligible Floridians.

On Thursday, January 25, a federal appeals court will hear oral arguments challenging SB 7050, a Florida law that attempts to make it harder for nonpartisan, community-based organizations to register voters. HISPANIC FEDERATION, CITY OF CHARLOTTE DISTRIBUTE $800,000 IN GRANTS TO LATINO-LED NONPROFITS IMPACTED BY THE PANDEMIC

Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino nonprofit membership organization, announced that it has allocated a total of $800,000 for 13 Latino-led, nonprofits in North Carolina.
